Franz Pichler. A Portrait.

As a part of the TAKE5TAKES series, ZONE produced a documentary on the works of the sculptor Franz Pichler. It was broadcast on ORF 1 in the programme 'Kunst-Stücke' on 16 April 1998.

For sculptor and Gironcoli scholar Franz Pichler, the central motif of his artistic endeavours has always been the spiral and this is reflected in the visual and narrative techniques employed by the documentary. Themes which cross paths and 'spiral' through Pichler's work ethic form the core of this film which attempts to highlight the major stages in his oeuvre.
