Communication Carries Weight

An intervention project by ZONE.

For a party at the 'beratergruppe neuwaldegg', ZONE developped a 'communication, intervention' project called 'Die Treppe' (The Stairs). 'The Stairs' are a uniting element in the two story 'beratergruppe neuwaldegg' office space, but are also symbolic of the communication and the flow of communication between the two levels. ZONE intended to measure the values of 'Communication = measured weight' and to display this on 42' plasma screens during the party. The total weight of people using the stairs during the evening symbolised the weight of ensuing communication.
