Peter Kubelka DVD Edition

Production of a DVD entitled 'Peter Kubelka: Film als Ereignis, Film als Sprache, Denken als Film' (Peter Kubelka: Film as Event, Film as Language, Thinking as Film) which featured a lecture held in the Austrian Film Museum on 10 November 2002 as part of the symposium 'Film/Denken' (Film/Thinking). This was an in-house project undertaken in cooperation with the Austrian Film Museum and the first time that the filmmaker Peter Kubelka became involved with the specific possibilities offered by DVD. The project proved especially challenging for ZONE in that it attempted to interpret Kubelka’s view of the world using a digital medium.
The DVD follows the lecture chronologically, but chapters also allow viewers to access specific sections. The result is an exciting document which not only records Peter Kubelka’s appearance at the Film Museum, but also examines his concept of 'Invisible Cinema'.
